This intensive training equips professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to become lead auditors for Forest Management (FM) and Chain of Custody (CoC) standards. Here are some key details about the course:

  • Course Content

    •  Introduction to FSC, FSC Principles & Criteria, auditor skills & qualifications, managing & conducting an audit, evaluating conformance.
    • FM evaluation process, FM assessment process & report, stakeholder consultation, High Conservation Value Forests.
    •  CoC requirements for forest managers (for both full and FM-only tracks), virtual field exercise, and FM Lead Auditor Training Exam.
    • CoC standards & systems, evaluation process for CoC, and creating audit plans.
    • Controlled Wood system, FSC trademark use requirements, CoC Lead Auditor Training Exam.
  • Certification:

    • Completion of this course meets the lead auditor ISO, as well as FM & CoC, training requirements for FSC evaluations.
    • Note that it will not result in a standalone ISO certificate, but it’s approved for professional CFE credits by the Society of American Foresters.
